About Tony Corroto

Tony served the City of Atlanta Police Department as a police officer for 17 years, spending 14 of them as
a senior police officer assigned to the DUI Task Force. He specialized as a SFST and Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) instructor which led him to teach DUI enforcement for the Atlanta Police Academy, Georgia Public Safety Training Center, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council. He was listed as an on-call expert witness on over 2,300 DUI cases for the City of Atlanta in one year alone. Prior to his retirement in 2006, he was listed on over 10,000 DUI cases. While working for the City of Atlanta’s DUI Task Force, he made over 2,700 arrests involving subjects driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Under his private enterprise, Tony consults on Driving Under the Influence (DUI) cases, providing nationwide expert testimony on impaired driving concerning the Drug Evaluation and Classification Program (DECP). In addition, he is qualified to give expert opinion in 20 states on behavioral effects of alcohol and drugs in the human body, Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST), theory and Science of Evidential Breath Alcohol Testing, and police procedures. He uses his 33 years of knowledge and expertise to teach and train legal professionals, law enforcement, and the public.
